Interested in a presentation about bats, bat conservation, or being a woman in STEM (English and/or Spanish)?
I regularly give presentations for all ages around the Loveland/Fort Collins/Denver, Colorado area, including to schools (including homeschoolers), Scout groups, camps, and local clubs. Don't live near there? No problem! I also give remote presentations (e.g. through Skype or Zoom) so can easily accommodate classes and groups worldwide! Presentation topics include, but are not limited to:
-
The World of Bats! (general bat information, fun bat facts, tips on how you can help bats, etc.)
-
Bat Conservation and Research
-
Bats Are Superheroes! (presentation about the ecosystem services and benefits of bats, geared towards younger students)
-
Pollination
-
Biomimicry and Bats (meets Next Generation Science Standards)
-
Bat Adaptations (meets Next Generation Science Standards), including an interactive drawing/art activity
-
Endangered Bats, including an interactive drawing/art activity
-
Building and Putting Up Your Own Bat House
-
Gardening for Bats
-
Being a scientist/wildlife biologist and woman in STEM
-
Following Your Passion to a Fulfilling Career
-
Tapping into Your Passion to Engage the Public and Share Your Science (science communication presentation)
-
and more, including a combination of any of the above!
I can tailor talks to your group's interests and age (anywhere from preschoolers to lifelong learners). I also lead bat kids' activities at festivals and with classes, evening bat walks for the public, and bat house building workshops/sessions (you must provide the houses and materials). All presentations and activities can be done in English and/or Spanish.
I am also available for media engagements such as interviews for TV, radio, and podcasts; popular articles; and technical/expert advice. Please reach out below.
